Bitumen 60/70 – wholesale purchase and export

Technical specifications
Bitumen 60/70 complies with the ASTM D946 and AASHTO M20 standards. “60/70” refers to the penetration: a standardised needle sinks between 60 and 70 tenths of a millimetre into the product at 25 °C.
| Characteristic | Test method | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Penetration at 25 °C (100 g, 5 s) | ASTM D5 | 60–70 (0,1 mm) |
| Softening point (ring & ball) | ASTM D36 | 49–56 °C |
| Flash point (Cleveland open cup) | ASTM D92 | ≥ 232 °C |
| Ductility at 25 °C (5 cm/min) | ASTM D113 | ≥ 100 cm |
| Solubility in trichloroethylene | ASTM D2042 | ≥ 99,0 % |
| Retained penetration after thin-film test | ASTM D1754 | ≥ 54 % |
| Density at 25 °C (indicative) | ASTM D70 | 1,01–1,06 |
The values above are the normative requirements. The actual results for each batch are shown on the technical data sheet supplied with every order.
60/70 or 50/70? For European buyers
A point that catches out many buyers: the 60/70 grade exists under the American ASTM D946 standard, but not under the European EN 12591 standard. In Europe, the closest equivalent is 50/70 bitumen (penetration 50–70, softening point 46–54 °C). If your market is the EU (France, Belgium, Romania, etc.), 50/70 is the grade you will be asked for. We supply both; specify the target standard when you enquire.
Applications
The 60/70 is used mainly to produce hot-mix asphalt for base and wearing courses: urban roads, secondary roads, motorways, airport runways, industrial platforms. Its consistency suits hot and temperate climates well, where it maintains its performance under heavy traffic.

Origin and traceability
Our bitumen comes from a network of refineries in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. Working with several sources rather than a single one allows us to sustain volumes and ensure continuity of supply, even if there is a disruption at one site. Unlike the offers of unclear origin found on many marketplaces, every shipment is documented: batch technical data sheet, safety data sheet (SDS), declaration of performance and certificate of origin.
60/70 bitumen price
The price follows the petroleum-derivatives market and varies according to volume, packaging and destination. We therefore do not apply a fixed rate: send us your request with the grade, quantity, port of destination and desired Incoterm, and you will receive a firm quote within 48 hours.
